Thank you to the Korean American Women's Association (KAWA) of Utah for holding the 2022 Overseas Korean Foundation Gathering for Overseas Korean Adoptees Conference on July 15, 2022. We were extremely honored to partner with them as a guest speaker, Carrie Shin says "Searching for biological family is a very difficult task. It is important for other adoptees to hear how I found my Korean birth mother forty years later on the other side of the world. I want adoptees to know how it is even possible to maneuver through strict Korean privacy laws, tough cultural and language barriers, with some hope." Other guest speakers included wonderful insight about adoptee families and relationships through their stories.
